Starting in the late 90s this unit was used for over a decade by automakers like Chevrolet, Pontiac, Saturn, Saab, Volvo, Nissan, Renault, Suzuki, Opel and Lancia. No transmission is perfect and with that said the AW55-50SN had its fair share of problems. Valve body and solenoid magnetization, pumps, pressure regulators, clutches, torque converter slipping and leakage are all failure points of the AF33. Our XP1 series is not just a rebuilt AW55-50SN. It is an OEM replacement transmission that has been completely remanufactured from the ground up.
